CuZn31Si1 is a silicon bearing special brass and a genuine bearing material. The silicon addition markedly improves wear resistance and makes the alloy a good choice for sliding loads under high stress. Under EN it is designated CW708R, the earlier DIN number is 2.0490.
Typical applications are bearing bushings, guides and sliding elements where surface pressure matters more than speed.
