CuZn25Al5Mn4Fe3-C is the strongest material among the cast special brasses. Aluminium, manganese and iron bring it to tensile strengths from 750 N/mm² and a hardness from 190 HB. This makes it the material for bearings that have to carry high static loads at low sliding speed. Under DIN EN 1982 it is designated CuZn25Al5Mn4Fe3-C, with material number CC762S, and the earlier DIN designation is CuZn25Al5 with the number 2.0598.
Under dynamic load and vibration the material is less suitable. A tin bronze is usually the better choice there.

Acc. to DIN EN 1982, 8.2.2 the above min. values for continuous cast (GC) are only valid for sizes up to 300 mm. For larger sizes these values are only a guideline.
