Cast Iron EN-GJS-400-15C (5.3126)

EN-GJS-400-15C is cast iron with spheroidal graphite, that is ductile iron. The ferritic structure provides high strength and elongation values as well as a high modulus of elasticity. Unlike grey cast iron the material is considerably tougher and also withstands dynamic loads. Added to this is good machinability.

Under DIN EN 16482 the material is designated EN-GJS-400-15C, with material number 5.3126. It is still known under the earlier designation GGG-40 and the earlier number 0.7040.
